What is considered an emergency?

Any unpredictable situation that causes your pet immense pain or discomfort is an emergency.

At our hospital, we treat the following as emergencies:

  • animal bites
  • excessive bleeding
  • car injuries
  • retching with no vomit
  • severe vomiting
  • ingesting toxins or foreign objects
  • inability to walk
  • breathing complications

We can also assist your pet in other situations. Please call ahead to find out how we can cater to them. Give us a call at 519-763-1082.

What should I expect during an emergency visit?

When a sick pet comes in with an emergency we prioritize their care over pets having routine visits. We attend to the sickest patient right away and work efficiently to get back to our other patients in a timely manner. We may perform a blood test if your pet needs surgery, so we can determine how much anesthesia to use. Our team will do our best to stabilize your pet’s condition and determine the best course of treatment.
